Inter Milan 4 - 3 Tottenham

A brilliant Gareth Bale hat-trick could not save 10-man Tottenham from a defeat by Inter Milan at the San Siro.


Javier Zanetti gave Inter the lead from 12 yards before Samuel Eto'o made it 2-0 from the spot after Heurelho Gomes saw red for fouling Jonathan Biabiany. Dejan Stankovic added the third with a well-placed shot from the edge of the area and Eto'o poked in the fourth.

Then Bale took over, he smashed in his first two after surging runs down the left before firing in a third late on. The final five minutes in which Bale scored his second and third were as sensational as the 15-minute opening which saw Inter go 3-0 up
