JIJILETU LEO

Tusidanganyane kwamba mnataka maendeleo nchini Tanzania kama mnashindwa ku-sort out ili tatizo la umeme once and for all!!??

Nashukuru.

Samuel Eto'o handed three-game ban for headbutting
Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o has been banned for three Serie A matches for headbutting Chievo's Bostjan Cesar.

The pair clashed in the 38th minute of Inter's 2-1 defeat by Chievo on Sunday when defender Cesar threw a weak punch that hit 29-year-old Eto'o in the face. Eto'o, who has scored 17 goals this season, jogged away before turning around and headbutting Cesar's chest.

The referee took no action, but the Italian Football Federation issued the ban after studying video evidence.
The Italian league has used video evidence before, banning Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino for two games after he scored a goal with his hand. A statement from Serie A said that Eto'o's headbutt, which was not seen by match officials, was "premeditated" and constituted "violent conduct".

The Cameroon international, who was fined 30,000 euros (£25,600), is available for Wednesday's European Champions League home game against Dutch side FC Twente on Wednesday.

But his league ban is a huge blow for Inter coach Rafael Benitez who has had to cope with injuries to key players including Diego Milito.

The reigning Italian champions have also suffered a loss of form and currently lie in sixth place in Serie A, nine points behind their cross-city rivals, AC Milan.

And former Liverpool manager Benitez is also facing speculation in the Italian media that he could be sacked if Inter, who are the European champions, lose on Wednesday.

Eto'o will miss 3 games, this is the decision of the Sport Court . He will enter again on 19 December against Fiorentina.
Kanye West Buys Rights To 10 Fatburger Restaurants
Kanye follows in the footsteps of Pharrell, Qeen Latifah and E-40 as he delves into the burger business.

Kanye West's ever-expanding business portfolio has just expanded, as the Chicago rapper has purchased the franchise rights to 10 Fatburger Restaurants in his hometown.

According to TheDailyBeast.com, Ye, whose other ventures include clothing design and film, purchased the rights through his holding company, KW Foods LLC.

Gee Roberson, Kanye's manager, explained the thought process behind ventures ancillary to his music. “Music is the foundation for everything Kanye does, but he doesn’t want to be defined only as a musician. He’s really a designer. He designs his sounds, his raps, all aspects of his tour. He wants to do deals where he can have his fingerprints on the product.”

Kanye, who already owned two Fatburgers, is joined by Pharrell Williams, Queen Latifah, and E-40 as Hip Hop artists who own or have owned the restaurants.

The Center's Executive Director, Mr. Mgunga Mwa Mnyenyelwa, his staff, and young local artists gave a warm welcome to Dr. Winkler, Public Affairs Officer Ilya Levin, Deputy Public Affairs Officer Roberto Quiroz II, and Regional English Language Officer Rebecca Smoak. Dr. Winkler played legendary folk songs "Blowin' in the Wind," "Turn, Turn, Turn," "This Land is Your Land," and others, and discussed the meaning of their lyrics in their historical context. PRESS RELEASE

USAID and PRIDE Tanzania Partner on Historic Microfinance Bond

Trading has begun on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange for the first ever microfinance bond in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Tsh 15,300,000,000 ($10 Million) bond issue has been guaranteed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Tanzania to support lending through Tanzania’s Promotion of Rural Initiatives and Development Enterprises Limited (PRIDE), extending credit to poor but economically active Tanzanians owning and running businesses since 1994.

The five-year bond, paying an interest rate of 11.75% per annum, will allow PRIDE Tanzania to expand their successful microfinance program and reach more than 10,000 rural businesses and farmers by raising longer term local currency and diversifying sources of funding, This historic bond issue opens a new chapter in the growth and development of Tanzania’s capital markets and has already generated interest by other lenders in raising capital through bond markets.

The bond issue was well received by investors including banks, fund managers, insurance companies and individuals resulting in 22% over-subscription. The successful issuance of the PRIDE Bond resulted from public-private-alliances in which USAID and PRIDE are partnering with Standard Charted Bank Tanzania Limited (Lead Arranger), Vertex International Securities Limited (Sponsoring Stockbroker and Placing Agent), CRB Africa Legal (Legal Counsel), PricewaterhouseCoopers (Reporting Accountants) and EXIM Bank Tanzania Limited (Fiscal Agent and Registrar).

USAID’s guarantee of the PRIDE Bond is part of a larger investment by the American people, $52 million in assistance over the past 18 months, to help Tanzania mitigate the impacts of the global financial crisis. This “Financial Crisis Initiative (FCI)” includes a partnership with the World Food Program providing nutritious school meals to 500,000 Tanzanian children each day. FCI also supports “food for work” and “cash for work” employing members of hard-hit communities to build the infrastructure that underlies broad based rural prosperity such as feeder roads, irrigation canals and tourism infrastructure. In the horticulture, FCI supports businesses and communities to access credit and remain competitive despite global economic challenges.

USAID is also working through FCI to address critical policy barriers to accelerated agricultural growth such as partnering with the Bank of Tanzania to create a legal framework allowing movable assets, such as livestock, to be used as collateral for accessing loans.

Fergie admits Barca dream
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he would have loved the opportunity to manage Barcelona.

The 68-year-old has revealed Barcelona is the only club he would have considered leaving Manchester United for.

Ferguson is a great admirer of the Catalan side's football philosophy and he admits he would have relished taking charge at Camp Nou.

"I would have loved to have gone to Barcelona at one time in my life," said Ferguson at the Aspire4Sport Conference in Doha. "That would have been a dream.

"Their ideology and philosophy, the whole place is fantastic. But I'm at the same kind of club in terms of vision. A different culture maybe, but we both always try to win a game."

Ferguson, who recently celebrated his 24th anniversary at Old Trafford, believes his longevity at one club will never be eclipsed.

"I'm a phenomenon," added Ferguson.
Blackburn 2 - 0 Aston Villa
Morten Gamst Pedersen scored twice as Blackburn defeated Aston Villa at Ewood Park in front of the club's new owners Venkateshwara and Balaji Rao.

Pedersen struck with a free-kick from a tight angle that Brad Friedel should have saved and later diverted a low strike from Ryan Nelsen into the net.

Paul Robinson made good stops from Stewart Downing and Ashley Young, who also headed against the crossbar.
Robert Pires made his debut for Villa as a second-half substitute.
But Rovers led 2-0 by that stage as Villa's five-match unbeaten run came to an end.
Platini wants more referees
Uefa president Michel Platini has hit out at Sepp Blatter's stance on goal-line technology by calling for more referees.

The Frenchman feels strongly that he would be betraying the game he loves if he supported technology unlike his Fifa counterpart, Sepp Blatter, who is now seemingly ready to embrace it.

The 55-year-old former Juventus maestro is adamant that his position can never change and it is up to the referee on the pitch to make the decisions and not the TV station.

"My position on that can never change," Platini told The Independent.

"His (Blatter) position always changes. At the last international board he said no more technology (debates), but after the World Cup he changes. I will never change.
