Uti the Donkey

The Housemates were playing an afternoon game of cards. The participating All Stars included: Tatiana, Munya, Mwisho, Paloma, Hannington, Yacob, Sheila and ofcourse Uti.

I call your bluff

The aim of the game was to collect cards of the same suit. If they did, they had to slam their cards down on to the floor and the last Housemate to do so would collect a letter of the word "Donkey".

And the loser is...
Punishment for those who finished last would be to give the other Housemates a ride, like a Donkey.
Poor Uti lost and everyone was ready to jump on his back. He collapsed after five of his Housemates seized the opportunity to ride on his back.

Hungry Housemates Stage Sit- In

Hungry after their “food ran out”, the Housemates have decided to take protest action.

Chanting "we want food" repeatedly, the demanding Housemates gathered in the kitchen, hoping Biggie would take them out of their misery.

Big Brother had provided the Housemates with enough food to last the whole week when they entered the house. However, the Housemates decided to deplete their food resources before the week ended. Housemates have been living on cabbage and cereal for the past day or so.
The Housemates then decided as a collective to stage a sit-in in the Diary Room after Biggie had called Head Of House Tatiana to the Diary Room.
Some argued that Tatiana should remain in the Diary Room and speak to Biggie, while others put up resistance, professing they were not moving an inch.

Uti's Bday Bash

Clearly confident that they will stay in the house for a long time, Hannington and Yacob asked Uti when his birthday is. Uti then excitedly revealed his birthday is coming up in two weeks time.

Hannington,excited at the prospects of a mega celebration then came up with an 'ingenious' plan that he feels will ensure Uti has a birthday bash to remember.

He suggested the boys hide booze for the next two weeks leading up to the big day.
Yacob, who was sitting not too far from the two lit up like a firelight, agreeing fully with Hannington's idea. He also threw in a little suggestion. "Lets all dress up for Uti's party"

Manispaa ya Jiji inabidi iliangalie hili, na si kukimbizana na MAMA NTILIE na MACHINGA wanaojitafutia ridhiki zao kwa uwezo wao.

China flooding kills 701, worst toll in a decade
BEIJING – More than 1,000 people have died or disappeared in severe flooding in China so far this year, and the heaviest rains are still to come, a senior official warned Wednesday.
This year's floods, which have caused tens of billions of dollars in damage already, have exacted the highest death toll since 1998, when the highest water levels in five decades claimed 4,150 lives.

Chelsea have made it clear to top clubs in Europe that Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba is not for sale.

The double winners were quick to pour cold water on speculation linking Drogba with a move to Manchester City after his agent Thierno Seydi claimed the transfer was a possibility.

Sand creations bring life to Durban beach front
Half-way down the golden sands to the cascading waves of the Indian Ocean there usually lies a collection of amazingly lifelike sand sculptures in the form of cars, buildings and wild animals.


These works can take up to a week to complete but can be destroyed in a matter of minutes. So why do their creators make them?

Sand sculptures have become a regular attraction on the Durban beach front.

For Siboniso Shezi, a 16-year-old homeless teenager, sculpting often means he doesn't have to go to bed on an empty stomach. "Sometimes people are really impressed by what we do and give us money," he says. "I enjoy what I do because it keeps me out of trouble. I also like getting donations from the tourists who visit Durban." His car sculpture took him and a friend three days to complete.

The perfectly named Sandile Dube, 17, lives more than 40 kilometres outside Durban and has already been making sand sculptures for four years.
"I use some of the money I make to travel between home and the beach. Some days I make up to 100 rand ($13; £9) a day, it makes me feel proud to earn a living on my own."
"I love making sand sculptures, most of them include wild animals because they fascinate me.
His latest masterpiece is a woman whose head is stuck inside a leopard's mouth.

He has been working along the beach front for the past 10 years.
Mr Dlamini is from Umlazi township, approximately 20 kilometres outside Durban and commutes to town daily - just to get his hands on the sand.

"I enjoy recreating homes or buildings I've seen. I think what we do goes a long way in further beautifying the beach," he says.
And while it could be frustrating to see all your efforts flattened by the high tide each day, at least it means he starts each day with a blank canvas.

Habari kutoka india zinasema kuwa uchunguzi wa awali unaonyesha kuwa uzembe na makosa ya dereva huenda ikawa ndio chanzo cha ajali ya treni iliyotokea jana tar 19.Mashuhudia wanasema kuwa treni hiyo kwa jina la Express liliwasili katika kituo mjini Sainthia  kwa mwendo wa kasi sana spidi 90km/h ingawa ratiba ilikuwa inaonyesha ni lazima isimame.Kitendo hicho kilipelekea kuligonga treni lililokuwa limesimama ndani ya kituo hicho.

Scientists say vaginal gel cuts HIV-infections by half

A vaginal gel has significantly cut the rate of women contracting HIV from infected partners in an experiment in South Africa, researchers said.

They said the gel, containing Aids drug tenofovir, cut infection rates among 889 women by 50% after one year of use, and by 39% after two and a half years.


If the results are confirmed it would be the first time that a microbicidal gel has been shown to be effective.


Such a gel could be a defence for women whose partners refuse to wear condoms.

Model of Bloodhound supersonic car unveiled

The British team hoping to drive a car faster than 1,000mph has unveiled a full-scale model of the vehicle.


The 1:1 replica of the 12.8m-long (42ft) Bloodhound SuperSonic Car (SSC) is the result of three years of aerodynamic study.

The model is a star turn at this year's Farnborough International Air Show.
The team has announced that aerospace manufacturer Hampson Industries will begin building the rear of the real vehicle in the first quarter of 2011.
